Be.Still.Move. designs programs based on your specific needs and concerns. There are no “model” programs as each program is a collaborative design. I define my work as “site specific to the landscape and needs of the specific group or community.”
The information that follows are descriptions of the programs offered.
There are four Be.Still.Move. Workshops Programs to choose from: (1) The Foundational, (2) the "I'm Just Curious" Contemplative Team Building, (3) Motivate & Change, and (4) more traditional retreats.
1. Be: Bold
Be: Bold focuses on the value of creatively investigating an issue. This bold process incorporates a variety of contemplative practices designed to address individual and group needs and challenges.
“You should know that everyone appreciated your time at our institute very much. Our wrap up was all about how life changing this experience has been for them. One guy said he thought he was coming to learn how to teach, he didn't realize he had to do all of this [personal work] first but was glad he now knows.”
Dr. K Mack, AAC&U
Foundational Design is workshop program created specifically for workplace and group needs. Using innovative strategies based on contemplative, socially just, and transformative practices, participants are prompted to investigate, interrogate, and identify daily individual and group challenges. Through personal assessment, a variety of practices are designed to address specific needs leading to transformative shifts both personally and professionally. We also provide tools that can lead to better focus and productivity, self-care, empathy, and compassion.
Program Length (virtual or face-to-face):
"Only the thing for which you have struggled will last." - Yoruba Proverb
We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.
T S Eliot
2. Still: Spaciousness
To experience being Still: Spaciousness is to experience liberation of mind and body. This spaciousness of thought is achieved through a variety of practices that focus on deep listening, sitting, journaling or arts-based practices. This is available for groups.
“Now Imma stay! You and your practices are one of the highlights of my week. Grateful for you!”
- Dr. C Martin-Fairey
“On behalf of those of us who met on Friday, thank you! Each person was intrigued, impressed, and inspired by your words and your work. I am still bubbling about some of the creative experiential processes you described (e.g., the “4 photos of a window” method, movement/awareness exercises)!”
- Jim, Metropolitan Community College
“I’m Just Curious”: Finding Space To Be Still are short workshop programs of three various lengths designed to meet the needs of your group or organization. Each program incorporates mindful or contemplative practices through individual and group collaborative experiences that can include deep listening, writing, reflection, art, and/or nature activities. This is also an innovative approach to the team building process.
Program length (virtual or face-to-face):
“Some things aren’t created, they are revealed”
Buddha was asked, “What have you gained from meditation?” He replied, “Nothing! However, let me that you what I have lost: anger, anxiety, sadness, insecurity, fear of old age and death.”
3. Move: Motivate/Manifest
This program of Move: Motivate/Manifest is designed around the willingness to make change based on a series of exercises and personal assessments. Participants learn to create more empathetic and compassionate spaces.
“Ever since the week at Smith College, I have wanted to just contact you to thank you for all that you offered and shared during the week there. I wanted to tell you that I was inspired by you to try a couple of exercises with a class of mine on Monday night. One of the goals of this exercise was to give the students a more vivid and real sense of gratitude for the opportunity to come back to another year at this university. Anyway, I wanted you to know that you were an inspiration to me, and it emboldened me to try this with my students, and I'm so glad that I did, as the feedback has been nothing but extraordinary! Next up: ‘Show up. Pay attention to what has heart and meaning’"
- Tim, University of Miami
Motivate and Change workshop programs incorporate traditional team building strategies with a contemplative focus and are designed to meet the needs of the client or group. This can include a focus on collaborative leadership, using storytelling as a form of group engagement, and how experiencing a change in one's personal view can provide the insights necessary to make conscious shifts.
Program length (virtual or face-to-face):
“Change is the point between transition and transformation” –stefani renee (Briggs)
"To witness is to embody something that has happened to you, something that has changed you so completely, and to allow it to come forth from you so that the change is known."

4. Retreats
Why consider a Be.Still.Move. Retreat?
Retreats offer an opportunity to not only rest and restore but be in beloved community, experiencing natural environments, and becoming more centered and recharged. BSM creates theme-based retreats for a variety of audiences and participants that combine meditation practices that are uniquely designed to complement a variety of creative-based exercises (art, movement, writing, storytelling).
