These workshop/retreats are designed for educators who are interested in incorporating contemplative practices into the classroom environment. Be.Still.Move. believes that in order to share these strategies in the classroom, it is imperative to establish one’s own practice. These short workshop/retreats offer insights into the importance of building a contemplative community and serves as an introduction to a few contemplative approaches that can be incorporated into a personal practice as well as in the classroom.
The program includes creating a ½ or full day retreats. Be.Still.Move. works with individuals from the institution considering or are currently incorporating contemplative practices in their courses. Be.Still.Move. assists in establishing strategies for an on campus contemplative community group. Early communications via phone, email, and Zoom includes pre-workshop/retreat discussions on creating and recruiting faculty/staff interested in contemplative/mindfulness practices and the design of the retreat including themes and potential breakout sessions.
On the day of the retreat, Be.Still.Move. will assist in the set-up, provide a keynote presentation, as well as offer one session for the ½ day facilitation or, for the full day facilitation, offer a keynote plus two sessions designed to offer general and/or specific workshop programs.
Half-day Group Facilitation provides an introduction to any of the Be.Still.Move. Workshop Empowerment Strategies (excluding Mindful Tap Dance). This includes a 1 hour presentation, 2- 45-minute workshops, 30-minute group discussion/Q & A, and closing practice.
Full-day Group Facilitation is an expanded view of any of the Be.Still.Move. Workshop Empowerment Strategies. This includes a 1-hour presentation, two 1 ½ hour workshops, two 30-minute small group work/discussions, and either small group presentations or group closing practice.
